Community Resource Councils
Seniors community resource councils are non-profit organizations that provide services in the community by coordinating volunteers and fee-for-service workers to assist seniors and persons with disabilities to maintain their independence in the community. Services coordinated by seniors community resource councils allow seniors to remain in their homes for as long as possible and may include transportation to medical appointments, social events, house cleaning, yard work/minor maintenance, snow removal, friendly visiting and referrals to appropriate agencies. Seniors community resource councils may also organize health and wellness events, fraud and safety programs, safe driving courses and falls prevention programs and manage Victoria Lifeline personal response service among others.
