Public Health

Across the province, public health officials work together to protect the health of Manitobans in many ways such as monitoring different diseases and educating Manitobans on ways to protect their health.

Public health serves the needs of individuals and families by providing information, guidance and support on topics such as pre- and post-natal care, infant nutrition, healthy child development, immunizations, sexually transmitted diseases and healthy living and disease prevention. (See the navigation to your right for more information on these public health activities.)

Public Health Programs and supports can be accessed by contacting your local Community Health Office.

Community Health Office locations can be found on our Find Us page.

2022 Health Status of Manitobans Report

The COVID-19 pandemic delayed the release of this report by almost two years. During this time, we had an opportunity to see, first-hand, the impact of health inequities in our province. When SARS CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19, was first identified in humans we were all equally susceptible, but not all groups were affected to the same degree. This report will outline how this pattern can be seen in many other health outcomes.

You can view the report on the Government of Manitoba’s website.
