MNU full time salary enhancement and offering of additional shifts

Important changes to the offering of additional shifts, related to the Full Time Salary Enhancement as per the Memorandum of Understanding between MNU and the Employers are being introduced.

Every opportunity to work up to full time hours is being provided to LPNs, RNII, RNIII and CRNs to help reduce overtime and agency.

The Full Time Salary Enhancement will provide nurses in these classifications with an additional $5.95/hour for all hours worked if 1007.5 regular hours are worked within each six (6) month period.

  • The six (6) month period is defined as April 1st to September 30th and October 1st to March 31st
  • Full time nurses will be provided an additional $5.95/hour on each pay effective April 1, 2025.
  • Part time and casual nurses will retroactively receive $5.95/hour for every regular hour paid.  Such reconciliation will occur in December and June.

In order to meet the requirements of the Full Time Salary Enhancement, please note the following changes to the awarding of additional shifts:

  1. IERHA will be reverting back to the four (4) week posting period (with the exception of SRHC OR) effective next posting period.
  2. Overtime will no longer be awarded off the sign ups.
  3. ALL shifts will be offered on an equitable basis.  Seniority will no longer apply to straight time shifts.
  4. Creation of Casual Plus Pool.  Casual Plus is defined as a nurse who holds a part time EFT with one Employer and casual with another within the same Employer Organization (IERHA and Betel).  It is the responsibility of the nurse to identify if they currently are, or wish to be employed by both employers.  (See MNU Full Time Hours Salary Enhancement Part Time Nurse Identification form).
  5. New additional shifts guidelines, agreed to between MNU and the Employers will take effect March 17, 2025 (See attached MNU Scheduling Guidelines).

The Employer must ensure nurses have every opportunity to take advantage of this full time salary enhancement, effective April 1, 2025, all shifts that have previously been awarded at overtime as of April 1, 2025, will be cancelled and re-offered at straight time.  If those shifts are not filled at straight time, the nurse that had the overtime cancelled will have the first opportunity for the overtime shift.
